Description

Model: My friend Jodie :)
Photo: Me

I did, also meet her at a Wedding Anniversary.

Critique:
Things for critique; Her skin colour...does it look natural, realistic? Her eyes, spent a while exposing and then processing for them. Saturation and general colour. Framing. And anything else

The title's a musical term ;)

:D I like it. She has a beautiful smile. I also like the bokeh of the trees in the background; it's subtle, but nice.

Try shooting in the morning/late afternoons, or when it's slightly overcast. Around noon, the sun is high and bright in the sky and creates some funky shadows. Sometimes you can work with it and incorporate it into the photo, and sometimes you can find some nice shade or something like that, which is good since sometimes you don't always get to choose when you take a photo.

I think her skin looks perfectly natural, I don't think there are really any white balance problems with this photo. Like I hinted at, it's a little overexposed in random splotched on her face because of the angle of the sun, I think. The eyes look natural as well, you did a good job processing them. As far as the general color goes, I'd like to see you play around with color filters, if you have any. Or, if you're like me, and your equipment is sort of lacking in most areas, try getting creative in your post-processing program. I think there's nothing wrong with color editing in Photoshop. There are lots of tutorials around, and, if you want, I could give you some tricks I use, personally. Deviants like `night-fate also offer free Photoshop actions, if you have PS, that have extremely generous usage terms. You have a lot of artistic things like composition and angle right, I just think your photos would be more interesting overall if they had more interesting colors.
