Description

I think they're weeds actually.
They're always in my backyard, so I decided to take a photo.

Critique:

First and foremost, the focal saturation/BW. Is it any good? How could it have been better? Or is it a bad idea, Ill take it down take it off and re-upload it if I have to.

The crop; now looking back at it, I feel as if though it could've done with a tighter crop, but, when I crop it, its too close, and the focus is too much on the flowers and their detail. (This is the original photo size, no crop at all) So keep that way? Or tighter?

The fact that grass is a mess, does it bother you? I think that its a good contrast from the flowers that are clear.

Print? Yes or no? (Without the watermark of course)

Thanks :)

I love black and white photos with a dash of color, I've always been quite fond of them. The thing I'm not fond of in this piece with that is the surrounding area is also colored. I think if you had done all the details and just the stem of the flower, it'd give a more powerful effect. But that's also my personal opinion.

As for the crop, I think a squre crop would work nicely. The two flowers keeps an even two sided balance for such a thing. It might even make the circle around the flowers look a little bit better to me.

I like the the grass is messy. It gives a natural feel and the out of focus parts of it make the flowers appear more clearly and sharp.

Other than that, yes they are weeds by the way ;), I have them in my yard, I used to pick them for my grandma when I was a child, and now my kids pick them for me as flowers. This photo brings back an appealing childhood and present memory due to that fact. Quite nice there.

I hope I covered everything. If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask.

Happy Snapping
